Apply to Startupbootcamp
In Denmark a number of mentors, institutions and companies are arranging a TechStars inspired incubator “event” starting in August.
Startupbootcamp is a 3 month startup accelerator. We help you transform your startup idea by injecting cash, providing free incubator space and access to 50+ awesome mentors. By the end of the program you pitch at Investor Day. We are a northern European initiative affiliated with Techstars.
Global Startup Challenge 2010

This summer Red Sky is organizing Global Startup Challenge 2010, a startup event starting July 1st and ending August 31st. Apply before June 16th! Project teams can include up to 3 people. Selected teams will be invited to Szczecin.
We’re inviting people from Poland and Europe to take part in a unique project!
It doesn’t matter if you live in Szczecin, Warsaw or Berlin!
It doesn’t matter if you only have an idea or a working internet project!
We welcome everyone ready to expend 2 vacation months for hard work.

Red Sky focuses on Internet related projects aimed at the global market and they will have specialists helping participants throughout the two months.
The most interesting projects will receive up to 200,000 euros in seed capital through the Buisness Angels’ Network AMBER, and the Starter Capital Fund Pomeranus Seed.

If you are at an early stage working on a web/mobile/software startup I definitely think you should apply to Seedcamp in Copenhagen, May 27th 2010. There will be lots of talented mentors, investors and entrepreneurs there. That means lots and lots of very useful connections, input and support!
So what is Seedcamp?
Mini Seedcamp Copenhagen is a one day event on 27th May aiming to connect the 20 best web-tech, mobile and software talent with some of the leading entrepreneurs, developers, and experts from the European tech ecosystem.
Last year saw us in Helsingborg, which was a great success and brought us face to face with quality teams across the region and beyond. We’re urging teams from Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Iceland and Norway that are confident and ready to apply to Mini Seedcamp Copenhagen. I recently started joining classes on Startup School and it is very good. They are using Adobe’s Connect Pro Meeting, so you get a video feed from the lecturer and you get to interact either by typing or speaking/asking questions. See you in class! ![]()
Time to apply to Seedcamp Week 2009
Seedcamp Week 2009 applications are open for the next wave of European web-tech talent to apply - 2 WEEKS LEFT!
Seedcamp Week 2009 is a weeklong programme from 21-25th September that connects 20 early stage web tech startups with over 400 highly experienced and sought after entrepreneurs, investors, marketers, product and developer experts. The 20 teams do compete for seed funding, but most importantly, garner world-class connections and recognition in the European entrepreneurial ecosystem. At the end of the week Seedcamp will invest up to €50K each in 5 teams for a small equity stake (5%-10%).

Follow-up to “Ideas are worthless”
This blog post has been out there for a while, but nevertheless interesting. I like the metaphor with mountains throughout the discussion.
Imagine that products are mountains. To build a product, you will need to climb that mountain. Some mountains have a big pot of gold at the top, and some do not. In order to make money, you will need to pick the right mountain and then successfully climb to the top and gather up the gold. You can fail by choosing a mountain that has little or no gold at the top, or by dying on the way up.

Defragmenting EU’s Web Startup Environment

This presentation analyzes and ranks 32 EU countries based on three factors that make a country great for web startups: being tech-oriented, having an entrepreneurial culture, and possessing sufficient resources. The best places to start up in Europe are the following countries: Finland, France, Germany, Netherland, Sweden, and UK.
